Lambda Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Wednesday, April 19 in the home of Tori Schluterman. Laura Komp and Laura Bujarski served as co-hostesses.
President Paulette Spivey called the meeting to order. Minutes were read and approved and the treasurer’s report was given.
The meeting started off with a phone call to PFC Glenn Baird, Laura Bujarski’s son. He is in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina doing condition training with his unit.
The Service Committee announced that a donation was made to the Paris Boys and Girls club on the Arkansas Gives Day.
A dinner was provided to the Open Door Meal Program held at First Christian Church in Paris where the group served over 80 dinnerss. The group has decided to provide a dinner twice a year.
Plans were also discussed for Founder’s Day which will be held at the First National Bank at Paris Community Center with our sister sorority Zi Gamma Beta.
Group members voted on Woman of the Year. Laura Bujarski will calculate the votes and present the award at the Founder’s Day Dinner.
Kim Maddox updated the group on the next fundraising event and the next meeting will take place at Kathy Schluterman’s house.
After the meeting was adjourned, Martha Ullrich handed out a program with helpful tips and uses regarding garlic since April 19 was National Garlic Day.
Refreshments were served to Michelle Ward, Laura Bujarski, Lesley Blaschke, Tori Schluterman, Kathy Schluterman, Kim Maddox, Paulette Spivey and Martha Ullrich.
