Seniors at high schools in the area will participate in graduation exercises next week.

Graduation week begins Sunday, May 7 and will end Saturday, May 13.

Here’s a rundown of graduation events scheduled.

Scranton High School: Scranton High School will hold its commencement exercise on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Speakers will be Allison Shelton, salutatorian of the Class of 2017, daughter of Bob and Nikki Shelton and co-valedictorians Emily Canada, daughter of Michelle Lemieux and Jerry Canada, and Alec Mertin son of Denise and Mark Mertin. Diplomas will be conferred to 36 graduates by the school board President, Joe Koch and School Superintendent Dr. James Bridges. Honors and awards will be presented by high school principal Mark Siebenmorgen.

County Line High School: County Line High School will hold graduation in the school district’s auditorium on Sunday, May 7 at 3 p.m. The valedictorian of the class is Layton Shaw. The salutatorian is Michael Achterberg. There are 34 students in the Class of 2017. Diplomas will be awarded by school board President David Morris.

Paris High School: Paris High School will hold graduation exercises in the gymnasium at Paris High School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12. Speeches will be given by Kyrsten Seigrist, Brittany Fulmer, Emily Richey and Megan Lowder. Diplomas will be awarded to the 95 graduates by School Superintendent Wayne Fawcett, PHS Principal Brian Hutson and school board President Tracy Richey and board members, if requested, Reggie Trusty, Brian Cooper, Wanda Keener or Corey Wells.

Honor graduates are Tessa Hixson, Claire Tober, Diana Ocampo, Brandon Fields, Layton Hice, Nirali Patel, Casey Rice, Ally White, Cole Norton and Lamon Wade.

High Honor graduates are Kyrsten Seigrist, Megan Lowder, Abby Biggs, Braden Varnell, Brooklyn McGuire and Hannah Needham.

Highest Honor graduates are Brittany Fulmer and Emily Richey. Richey is also a 4.0 graduate with a grade point average of 4.0 on an unweighted scale.

Subiaco Academy will hold its 130th graduation exercise on Saturday, May 13 at 10 a.m. in the Inner Court of Subiaco Abbey.

A graduation Mass will be held at 8 a.m. in St. Benedict Catholic Church on the grounds of Subiaco Abbey.

There are 39 graduates in the Class of 2017 from Arkansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas and from the countries of China, Nigeria and South Korea. Diplomas will be awarded to graduate by Subiaco Academy Headmaster Matthew C. Stengel.

The commencement address will be by Deacon Tim Costello, of North Little Rock, a Deacon serving the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock as the Minister to Deacons and Director of St. John Catholic Center. He is a 1979 alumnus of Subiaco Academy.
