Bobby Ray Sikes, 68, who resided in New Blaine, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, in Fort Smith.
He was born Nov. 17, 1948 in Ozark, Arkansas to Bob and Erma (Frost) Sikes. He is preceded in death by his father, a brother, Phillip Sikes and a sister, Erma Medford.
Bobby was a Vietnam veteran and served in the United States Army. He was decorated with a Purple Heart along with several other medals too numerous to mention. He fought his battle with strength and bravery that baffled even the medical professionals and has entered into our Father’s kingdom to receive his highest medal of honor.
Graveside service will be held by the family on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at McVay Cemetery in Carbon City. Family and friends are welcome to join as he is seen off on his final journey.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Turner Sikes of New Blaine; two daughters, Christina Sikes of Charleston and Desirae Sikes of Booneville; two sons, Bobby Sikes Jr. and wife JoAnn of Fayetteville and Cody Sikes and wife Danielle of Russellville; two grandchildren, Ayden of Russellville and Chaylon of Booneville; three sisters, Shirley Cassidy and husband Bob of Danville; Sharon Lee of Paris and Ada Dalton and husband Grant of Paris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas.
