Here’s a rundown of places to see fireworks and celebrate the Fourth of July in north Logan County.


Paris: The Paris Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct its annual fireworks show at Wood Street Park located across the street from Paris High School. The show will begin around 9 p.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes and is open to the public.

Ratcliff: The Ratcliff Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its annual fireworks show at City Hall. Food will be served at 5:30 p.m. consisting of free hot dogs, nachos, snow cones and drinks. The event includes live entertainment and door prizes will be given away. Fireworks begin at dark.

Mount Magazine State Park: The state park, located 19 miles south of Paris, is a perfect place to watch fireworks in the valley below the mountain. On Saturday, you should be able to see fireworks in both Paris and Ratcliff.

Tuesday, July 4

Paris: The Logan County Museum in Paris will sponsor its annual Fourth of July Program and Picnic. The event gets underway at 11 a.m. on the museum grounds There will be a patriotic program featuring a guest speaker and music, a performance from the Sweet String dulcimer group and a picnic. There is no charge.

New Blaine: The New Blaine Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a day-long celebration. It begins with a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. The Little Miss and Mister Firecracker Pageant takes place at 10 a.m. The concession stand opens at 3 p.m. There will be other activities throughout the day, concluding with a fireworks show at dark.
