The Arkansas State Police have identified the body of a woman which was found in a home in the 700 block of Delaware Road by Logan County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

The woman was identified as Jessica Taylor, 36, who had been reported missing to authorities in Russellville on July 28.

The investigation into the cause of the woman’s death continues. Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks said his department, the Yell County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. The body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.

Hicks said the woman’s body was discovered by deputies after the Logan County Sheriff’s Department received a request from the Yell County Sheriff’s Department to do a welfare check on a woman.

“Yell County called us, and the possible victim’s father called us about checking on the welfare of his daughter,” Hicks said. “When deputies arrived, they found a body that could not be identified. We think she had been dead for several days.”

Hicks said the home had no utility service and deputies couldn’t detect any sign of violence at the residence, which is located near the Logan-Yell County line.

In addition to checking on the woman’s welfare, Hicks said Yell County authorities asked Logan County to “look for a male subject who is possibly connected to that residence.

“My understanding is that this subject is being sought in connection with a separate investigation,” Hicks said.
