Property owners in Logan County have to pay their property taxes by Monday, Oct. 16, according to Tax Collector Britney Rogers.

The Tax Collector’s offices in the courthouses in Paris and Booneville will be open extended hours next Monday. Rogers said her offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

There are several ways to pay property taxes. By mail (must be postmarked on or before the 16th to avoid the penalty), phone payments (call Paris or Booneville office or call 1-866-257-2055 using county code 42), pay online at https://www.ark.org/propertytax/logan/index.php, pay from your smartphone http://www.arkansas.gov/m or pay in office. Make checks payable to Logan County Collector.

The entire amount of taxes must be paid by 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16.

“If your taxes aren’t paid in full you will be subject to a 10 percent penalty and your name will be on a list of delinquent taxpayers in the newspaper,” Rogers said.

Rogers also said her offices have seen a lot of activity prior to the deadline.

“Our collections right now are more than they were last year,” she said. “We’re anticipating collecting something in the range of $9 million.”
