The Logan County Sheriff’s Department is looking for information about cows being shot in the Greasy Valley Road area in the last few weeks.

According to County Sheriff Boyd Hicks is looking for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information may call the Logan County Sheriff’s Office at 963-3271 or Hicks’ personal cell phone at 479-847-6270. All information will be held in strict confidence. “If you see a suspicious vehicle in your area please call immediately and if you can, get an accurate vehicle description and tag number,” Hicks said. “If you have you cell phone take a photo if you can do so safely.”

On Monday, Oct. 2, the Sheriff’s Department received a report that a cow had been shot twice from a rancher living on Greasy Valley Road.

In the course of that investigation, another resident of the area reported that a calf had been shot and killed recently but the death wasn’t initially reported.

Hicks said deputies are conducting additional patrols of the Greasy Valley area.
