Area schools will honor veterans Friday and Monday, Nov. 13 as part of the area’s Veterans Day events.

Veterans Day is Saturday, Nov. 11.

Paris Middle School will host its annual Veterans Day Program Friday at 2 p.m. in the PMS auditorium.

Middle school students will be inviting their friends and family who are veterans to attend the program. These students are currently working on completing a literacy project in remembrance of American veterans, some of which will be presented during the program.

The local boy scout troop will present the flags and lead the pledge. The PMS band will play the National Anthem. There will be a guest speaker during the program. The event will wrap up with the slide show honoring local veterans whose photos the students have shared.

All veterans and their families are welcome to attend the program.

County Line Elementary School will stage a Veterans Day program Friday at 9 a.m. Veterans will be recognized at an assembly that will include a presentation and music. Veterans and their families are also invited to attend.

Scranton High School will host a Veterans Day program on Monday, Nov. 13 at at 11 a.m. in the Scranton High School Gymnasium to honor area veterans. The keynote speaker will be Barry Moorefield, a retired former member of the United States Air Force.

A luncheon will be held for the veterans and their families at the Scranton American Legion Building following the program. The public is invited.
