Tom Watkins is the Democratic nominee for justice of the peace District 4 on the Crawford County Quorum Court.

District 4 encompasses Van Buren precincts 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and Dora.

Watkins is a career educator for the Van Buren School District who has served as a social science instructor, assistant principal, principal and activities director for 35 years. He and his wife Jane have been Van Buren residents since 1983.

“Since moving to Van Buren I have filled leadership roles with the school district for more than 25 years of my career.” Watkins said. “I have been active in the community, serving as past president with Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, served on their boards, served as past president of the Comprehensive Juvenile Services board, served on two state commissions by gubernatorial appointment, and recently worked with the chamber of commerce in their recruitment campaign and as a planning committee member for Leadercast Van Buren.”

Watkins said he looks forward to continuing his involvement in community activities.

“I hope to represent the people who live in our JP district on the quorum court if I am elected in November,” he said.
