In June 2018, Paris Police Department officers filed 37 drug related charges compared to 48 charges in June 2017, according to the latest monthly report made available by the department.
Through six months of 2018, Paris police have filed 264 drug related charges compared to 239 through the first six months of 2017.
The most drug-related charges filed in June were for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, with eight charges filed. There were six charges filed in June for felony possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report. There were 19 charges filed for possession of various narcotics with possession of various amounts of methamphetamines being the most numerous.
As for non-drug charges, the most numerous were charges for failure to appear in court. Ten of those were filed in June, according to the report. The next most charges filed were for third degree domestic battering. There were nine of those charges filed in June, followed by eight charges of driving on a suspended license, four charges filed for first degree criminal mischief, three charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, three charge of resisting arrest, three charges for speeding and three charges of theft of a vehicle valued at less than $25,000.
