American Legion Post 121 of Paris began its third annual Field of Heroes, beginning on National POW/MIA Day, which was Friday, Nov. 21.

A ceremonywas held at 2 p.m.

The Field of Heroes gives family and friends the opportunity to honor the living or remember those who have served the nation is any branch of the military (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines), as well as first responders such as police, fire fighters, EMT, ect.) in any capacity since America was founded.

Flags to honor these heroes will be $30 for the first person and $4 for each additional person. Cards will be posted with each flag to show men and women being honored.

The flags are flying in the area next to All Care Pharmacy on East Walnut St. in Paris until Nov. 12 and they may be picked up by the sponsors or they may be mailed to them for a nominal fee.
