For the first time in a number of years, the tradition of a homecoming parade and a pep rally on Courthouse Square returned to Paris Friday afternoon.
The parade wound its way from Paris High School to the Logan County Courthouse around 1:30 p.m. Friday, a few hours before the 7 p.m. kickoff for the homecoming football game between the Paris Eagles and the Lavaca Arrows. Parade units included the PHS band and cheerleaders, floats made by each class at the school and the homecoming court. The homecoming queen will be crowned prior to the Friday football game at Eagles Stadium on the PHS campus.
After that, the PHS spirit squads led the crowd in a pep rally. A number of students, PHS teachers and administrators, as well as members of the public, were on hand.
