John William “Bill” Corley, 89, who resided in Ratcliff, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at his home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Scranton to the late Jack Corley and Muriel (Ramsey) Corley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jo (Hill) Corley; and a brother, Bobby Joe Corley.

Bill retired from Miller Drilling Company. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, member of Ratcliff City Council, County Line Mule Rider’s Association, Caulksville Cemetery Board, and he was a member of Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial was in Caulksville Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his son, John Earl Corley of Ratcliff, and a close family friend, Linda Trusty of Paris.

Pallbearers were James Vanlandingham, Kedric Paschal, Cole Smith, Mike Patterson, Benny Rausch, and Jimmy Stubblefield.

Honorary pallbearers were church members of Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
