Tony E. Sparks, 84, a resident of Paris passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at his home.
He was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Safford, Ariz. to the late Charles and Vella (Sigler) Sparks. Tony served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service he worked as a pipefitter. He married Betty Hughes on July 19, 1980, in Lake Isabella, Calif. In addition to his parents Tony is preceded in death by a daughter, Caroline Moore and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Paris. Burial with military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Betty Sparks of Paris; a son, Ed Sparks of Boron, Calif.; five daughters, Marilyn DuPriest of South Bend, Ind., Diane Sparks of Fort Smith, Melissa Perkins of Bakersfield, Calif., Sandra O’Brien of Paris and Susan Cantrell of Blanchard, Okla.; three sisters, Patricia Sparks of Bakersfield, Calif., JoAnn Byrd of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Viva Scott of Cal City, Calif.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
