Rachel Arwelia Jordan Davison, 95, was born near Magazine, Arkansas, Sept. 30, 1921. During her senior year of high school at Magazine, her family moved to North Logan County and she graduated from Paris High School with the class of 1939. In 1951, Arwelia and her family moved to Santa Maria, Calif. where she resided until her death on May 21, 2017.

Arwelia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend to everyone. She was retired from the housekeeping department of Mariam Hospital at Santa Maria, after 17 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed quilting, reading, word search, crossword puzzles and bingo.

Arwelia was a very generous and giving soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Arwelia was preceded in death by her parents, Bethel and Mae Jordan; one son, Roger O’Neal Davison; brother, Don Jordan; sister, Aneita McGrath; also the father of her children, Ralvin Davison.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie Brown; four sons, Danny Davison (Cynthia), Michael Davison (Kathy), Gene Davison (Susie), all of Santa Maria and Larry Davison (Joyce) of Meeker, Oklahoma; one brother, Truman Jordan of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mabel Serpa and Dorothy Rhinehart of Paris; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:oo a.m. at Orcutt Christian Church, Orcutt, Calif. Interment was at the Santa Maria Cemetery, Santa Maria, Calif.
