Charles O. Butler, Sr., 90, of Fort Smith passed away on Sunday May 28, 2017 in Fort Smith.
He was a retired tool and die maker for Trane Industries, a member of Temple Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Butler, one daughter Cathleen Cox, one son, Charles Odis Butler, Jr. and two grandsons, Gregory Stephen Butler and Shannon Ray Nelke.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Nelke of Fort Smith and Janet Lively of Fort Smith; one son, Steve Butler of Fort Worth, Tex.; one sister, Vera Trisler of Paris; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 31, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Blair Lively, Spencer Cox, Christopher and Peyton Lipham, Jonathan Bates and Grant Butler.
