Bequita Jeanne Goodson, who resided in Ratcliff, Arkansas, formerly of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017, in Fort Smith.

She was born March 21, 1938, in Ratcliff to the late Idus Weeks and Lula Mae (Brooks) Weeks. She was 79 years old. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Ralph Weeks.

Bequita, along with her husband John, was former owner and operator of Goodson’s Restaurants in Paris and Fort Smith, and the Eagle Drive-In in Paris. She was a 1955 graduate of County Line High School, and she was a member of First Baptist Church in Ratcliff. Bequita was a loving wife, mother, and grandma and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Paris.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Goodson; two sons, Mark and Janice (Schluterman) Goodson of Ratcliff and Kevin and Patti (Gilbert) Goodson of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Ashley, John Taylor and Mason Goodson, all of Fort Smith; one sister-in-law, Wanda (Weeks) Schnieder of Paris; and one nephew, David Weeks of Paris.

Pallbearers will be Roy Nixon, J.B. Turner, Lewis Earl Bennett, Neal Wade, Kenny Vines and Johnny Goodson.

Family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home in Paris.
