Hilda Schluterman, 84, of Fort Smith, passed from this life Aug. 2, 2017 in Fort Smith.

She was born, April 5, 1933, in Subiaco to the late William and Mary Kleager Friemel. She was a housewife and kept children in her home from 1972 to 2000. She touched the lives of the many children she kept. Hilda was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Hilda was the widow of John Richard Schluterman. She was also preceded in death four brothers, Bill, Joe, Emil and Walter Friemel and grandson, Ben Schluterman.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy Singleterry of Fort Smith; four sons, Rick Schluterman of Fort Smith, Larry Schluterman of Fort Smith, Kevin Schluterman of Paris, and Dennis Schluterman of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mary Lou Willmann of Paris and Betty Rose Seiter of New Blaine; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The family will greet friends on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., with rosary being said at 7 p.m. in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be said on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steve Willman, Mark Seiter, Dustin, Michael, Matthew Schluterman, and Eugene Singleterry. Jonathan Schluterman will serve as honorary pallbearer.
