Michale R. Sims Sr., 72, of Mountainburg passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at his home. He was a line worker at Whirlpool for 31 years and attended Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Mountainburg. He was born Jan. 7, 1945 in Comanche, Okla., to the late Stanley and Lillian (Owens) Sims. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen James Linder; a sister, Jeannie Clark; and a brother, James Sims.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Mountainburg with interment at Pope Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.
Survivors include, his wife Mildred of the home; 2 daughters, Pam Simco of Fort Smith and Paula (Rory) King of Alma; two sons, Charles (Patti Houston) Sims of Shreveport, La., and Michale (Lisa) Sims Jr. of Mountainburg; two brothers, Richard B. Sims of Mountainburg and Anthony Sims of Cedarville; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Gregory, Justin Houston, Chad Killough, Tanner Killough, Steve Linder Jr. and Montana Sims.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Battles, Russell Becker, Odean Belt, Kevin Belt, Ralph Figley, Jim Gaston, Tommy McGehee, Bob Redo and all his great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma.
