Scott A. Koch, 53, of Fort Smith, passed away peacefully, October 26, 2017 surrounded by his family.

He was born April 16, 1964 in Fort Smith to Gilbert L. and Doris Geels Koch. Scott attended Immaculate Conception Elementary, Trinity Junior High, Northside High School, and Arkansas Tech. He was employed by Mesa Industries until he became disabled in 2015 and was a former employee of Arkansas Poly. He was one employers could always count on to show up for work, even when he was sick and knew he should have not been there.

Scott loved to duck hunt, fish, play poker with friends, and was an avid Razorback and Chicago Cubs fan. He was noted for his quiet gentle ways, never complaining through struggles with his four-year illness. Scott was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Scott is survived by his parents, Gilbert and Doris Koch of Fort Smith; one sister, Suzanne and husband Mike Peterson of Fort Smith; one nephew, Christopher Peterson of Fort Smith; numerous aunts, uncle’s cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Abe and Gertrude Koch, and maternal grandparents, Frank and Mayme Geels.

Rosary will be Sunday, October 29, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and Mass will be Monday October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Maestri, Tim Seiter, Fred Naucke, George Moschner, Bill Neumier, Steve Cannon, John Mendenhall, Jerry Seiter, Nick Maestri, Damon Wright, Steve Fairfield. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday from 4-5 p.m.

Memorial may be made to trinity Junior High School, Immaculate Conception Elementary, or the Sebastian County Humane Society.
