Doris Jean Fritschie, 87, a resident of Fort Smith, formerly of Prairie View passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at the Alma Healthcare and Rehab Center.
She was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Prairie View to the late John Henry and Radna Roberta (Ewing) Fox. Doris spent 23 of her working years as a Registered Nurse in the Oncology Department at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith. She was a member of the St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View and the St. Meinrad Mother’s Society.
In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Fritsche; a son, Earl Wayne Fritschie and two brothers, L.R. “Bub” and John Edwin Fox.
Survivors include a son, Billy Ray Fritschie of Alma; a daughter, Barbara Scott of Alma; a brother, Charles Fox; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Rosary service will be recited at 7 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at the St. Meinrad Catholic Church with Father John Miranda officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Meinrad Catholic Cemetery in Prairie View under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Online guestbook available at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/paris.
Pallbearers will be Brian Scott, Seth Fritschie, Zackary Fritschie, Eric Fritschie, Danny Fritschie and Richard Fox.
