Donald Ray Azbell, 71, of Fort Smith, passed from this life January 17, 2018 in Fort Smith.

He was born July 3, 1946, in Osceola, Arkansas, to the late Arnold and Vallie Jeffries Azbell. Don owned and operated several vending companies and was a veteran of the United States Army. Growing up, Don boxed for the Fort Smith Boys Club and went on to coach boxing and was involved with the National Tough Man Contests. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Azbell of Fort Smith; his brothers, Jim Azbell of Fort Smith and Ron Azbell of Paris, Arkansas; his aunt Trudy Ralls of Fort Smith, as well as one nephew and niece, as well as one great nephew and two great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Susie Azbell and brother Wayne Wimberly.

Memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2017 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
