Max D. Harvell, 88, who resided in Caulksville, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1930, in Logan County near Ratcliff, to the late G.W. Harvell and Floy (Best) Harvell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Harvell; a sister, Fern Houser; and a brother, Murice Harvell.

Max was a retired truck driver for Miller Drilling Company in Fort Smith, and was an U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Graveside service, with military honors, was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris. Officiating the service was the Rev. Vondal Davenport.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda (Pfeiffer) Harvell; one daughter, Carmon Crouch of Sherwood; two sons, Gary Harvell of Dardanelle and Danny Clark of Caulksville; one sister, Alta Faye Coats of Plains, Kan.; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kendrick Varnell, Dakota Lievsay, Mason Varnell, Justin Varnell, Charles Lievsay, Amanda Clark, and Larry Lawrence.

Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
