Melissa "Missy" Lynn French, 39, of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born Dec. 6, 1978, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a 1997 graduate of Northside High School and a cheerleader. Melissa loved her family dearly.

There will be a memorial service held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Time Tabernacle in Fort Smith. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.

She is survived by four children, Ricky, Kaley and Ashley Hayes and Jeremy Arndt, all of Fort Smith; her mother, Jamie Garner and her husband Ronnie of Fort Smith; a sister, Neely Spessard and her husband Brian of Fort Smith; a niece, Amelia Spessard of Fort Smith; a brother, Casey Fleming of Fort Smith; and a stepbrother, Eddie Garner of Florida. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles and cousins, Tricia and James Sloan with Jason Sloan and Bitsy Sloan of Florida, Uncle John and Gladys Collier with Dorothy Collier of Dallas, Aunt Robbie and Jerry Lovell and Ryan Everman and Marylee French.
