Ruth I. Patterson-Wright, 98, a resident of Paris passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at her home.
She was born October 28, 1919, in Pottsville to the late John and Bertha (Wirth) Wilker. Ruth graduated valedictorian of her class at Pottsville High School and attended Weedin Business College in Russellville where she met and married Cecil Patterson. They were married for 59 years. Together they owned and operated Cecil’s 22 Café in Paris for over 40 years. They have two children, Larry Patterson and Paula Warren, both of Paris; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church in Paris where she taught Sunday school for many years and served on the Church Board. She married Johnny Wright of Paris on October 2, 2002.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by both husbands, Cecil Patterson and Johnny Wright; one son, Dr. W. Keith Patterson; five sisters, Orpha Giddieon, Lucille Wilson, Janet Davis, Erma Sparks and Eula Bowden and five brothers, Bud Wilker, Banny Wilker, Kenneth Wilker, Burvil Wilker and Raymond Wilker.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Paris with the Rev. H.C. Varnadore officiating. Pallbearers will be Alex Trusty, Ben Trusty, Ron Trusty, Austin Warren, John Warren and Tony Patterson.
