Furman Ray “Bud” Allred, 68, who resided in Branch, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, in Russellville.

He was born Nov. 21, 1949, in Conroe, Tex., to the late Furman Ernest Allred and Ethel Louise (McNeese) Allred. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Mae (Curtis) Allred; an infant son, Ronnie Allred, and a sister, Pamela Allred.

Bud was a retired U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam and serving over 20 years in the U.S. Army. Bud was awarded numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons while serving in the U.S. Army.

Graveside service, with full military honors, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Angelo Florenciano.

He is survived by a son, Steven Allred of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five sisters, Julie O’Connor of Helena, Mont., Kathy Howell of Clarksville, Dixie Carman of Wichita, Kan., Marsha Farmer of White Water, Kan., and Pat Robertson of Russellville; four brothers, Paul Allred of Louisiana, John Allred of Springdale, Cecil Allred of Batesville, and James Allred of Dover; several grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home in Paris.
