Ola Joy Hixson, 92, originally of Subiaco, Arkansas was called home to the Lord on Saturday September 15, 2018.

Ola Joy was born in Havana, Arkansas on April 25th, 1926 to Ross and Ocie Valentine. She was married to Ralph (Scott) Hixson on November 16, 1944. They worked a dairy farm in Subiaco and raised their two children Donna Hixson Colten and James Hixson.

After the death of her husband she moved to Paris, Arkansas in 2004 and later became a winter Texan in Harlingen where she became a permanent resident in 2014.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church at crossroads where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. She had many hobbies including Sewing, Quilting, Crochet, Embroidery, Painting, Ceramics and more. She always had a hand made gift for friends and family, new babies, or any special occasion.

Ola Joy is survived by her sister Anna Lois Davis of St. Charles Missouri, a daughter Donna Colten (Joe), grandchildren Tracia Patterson (Jay) and Shawn Colten (Jennifer) of Harlingen Texas, Robert Hixson (Kerri) of Elkins, Arkansas and Brandon Hixson of Dardanelle, Arkansas. She has four Great Grandchildren Kayla and Savannah Patterson of Harlingen Tx, Chaley Hixson of Elkins, Arkansas and Brooklynn Hixson of Dardanelle, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ross and Ocie Valentine, husband Ralph (Scott) Hixson and her son James Robert Hixson. Three siblings Ila Bingaman, Gladys Lewis, and Ross (R.D.) Valentine Jr.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. Burial will follow in Ellsworth Cemetery in Midway under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/paris
