Hursel Henson Jr, 77, of Paris passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 in Paris.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1937 in Riverside, Calif. to his parents, Hursel and Velna (Sewell) Henson Sr. He worked as a fieldman for AVI Poultry, owned and operated Henson Landscaping, Backhoe and Dozer Service and open and closed graves and was caretaker of Oakwood Cemetery for over 30 years. He was a devoted Paris Eagles and Arkansas Razorbacks fan, volunteer fire fighter for 28 years, a member of First Baptist Church in Paris and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hursel and Velna Henson; daughter, Misty Johnson; son-in-law, Jim Johnson; granddaughter, Shae Johnson; brother, James Henson.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Paris.

Funeral Service was at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Paris with the Rev. Harlin Brewton officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. Online guestbook at

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Henson of Paris; three daughters, Michele White and husband Bill of Fort Smith, Heather Dronet of Newport and Teresa Schluterman and husband Andy of Paris; two sons, Matt Henson of Paris and Bobby Buck and wife Lisa of Ozark; one sister, Patricia Clapp of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Abel Henson, Dylan Farnam, Zack Farnam, Tyrel Kincannon, Dirk Henson and Eric Robison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Koprovic, Dan Gray, Isaac Churchman, Gene Davis, Marlin Davis, Bentley Allen, John Wells and Buddy Boyd.
