John Earl Jones, 84, of Magazine passed away on Jan. 1, 2014 in Magazine. He was born on Aug. 22, 1929 in Henryetta, Okla. to his parents, Emmit and Mamie Sue (Nee Selvidge) Jones.
He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic and operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 3.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Victoria Noreen Bourdeau; four sisters, Mary Margaret Carter, Phyllis Florence Beason, Betty Lou Bernard and Dolly Ann Mosley; two brothers, Pat Martin Jones and Francis Ray "Buddy" Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jones of Magazine; two daughters, Nancy Lynn Long of Alma and Lisa Shell Marie Trehern of Magazine; four sons, Michael Jones of Orland, Calif., Paul Eugene Anderson of Tracy, Calif., Arn Roman Anderson of Stockton, Calif. and Larry Dewayne Biggs of Dickson, Okla.; three sisters, Wilma Nell Gibson of Livermore, Calif., Sue Cooper of Paris and Carolyn Kay Dickson of Texas; one brother, Jack Lawrence Jones of Charleston; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
