To the Editor:
Subiaco Academy recently held its annual Spring Carnival and enjoyed another successful event thanks to the support of local communities, parishes and friends of the Academy.
The March 9 event netted $70,000 to support programs in the Academy and was well attended. The raffle of a 2012 Chevy Sonic was the largest portion of the proceeds and was won by Jack Willems, a Subiaco alumnus of the Class of 2005, of Searcy.
The carnival committee wishes to thank all those who attended and supported this fund raiser.
To the Editor:
Being diagnosed with a life threatening illness is very scary.
My life was completely turned upside down on Jan 7th of this year. But, as soon as I reached out to family and friends for prayer, it was like I almost had an immediate peace within me.
This community sprung in to action and showed so much love and support for me and my family. There is just no way to show how much we appreciate each and every one of you.
There were two benefits thrown on our behalf to help with all of the medical expenses and I wanted to recognize those that had a hand in the huge success: Jan and Dan Houston, Jana and Ed Wlliams, Stan and Sandy Hatcher, Jill Linn, Tiffany Owen, J.R. and Nortna Nickerson, Kay Hibbs, Joan Harrison, Pam Kindy, Carla Dickerson, James and Laura Hunt, Doug and Katie Weymouth, Bob and Sherrie Parks, Peggy Jarrell, Norma Bennet, Renae Hodges, all the ladies that made desserts, Megan Goad, Curtis and Pam Baumgartner, John Webster, Nub and Bequita Nehus, Jimmy Luttrell, Tyson Foods of Clarksville for donating all the chicken, all those that came to the dinner, bought raffle tickets or came and purchased items from the bake sale and all of these local businesses for donations: Well’s Furniture, Paris Ford, Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center, MediQuick Pharmacy, The Grapevine Restaurant, Big Red Corner Store, El Parian, Scott’s on The Square, Castle Graphics, Pizza Barn, Pizza Hut, Danielle’s Salon, Brian Hice Auto Repair, Elmer’s P and E, Arvest Bank, Bob Roger’s Chevrolet, Sabrina’s, Warrens Shoes, Bank of the Ozarks, Circle W Pawn, Cuts by Huck, Murry’s Barber Shop, Tzer’s Hair Salon, Precious Nails, Kathie’s Corner in memory of Kathie Story and Sonic.
I apologize if I left anyone out.
Upon closing I would like to say one last thing. If you are ever in my situation, lean on the Lord, family and friends for strength and remain positive about everything. It will make all the difference.
Much love and God bless.
