To the Editor:
On Saturday June 22, 2013, the Boys and Girls Club of Paris hosted its Annual Baseball Jamboree at the city of Paris’ Veteran’s Park.
There were 10 teams participating for boys and girls ages seven and eight and 14 to 16. A total of 100 youth were able to participate in a fun-filled day playing baseball and softball.
We would like to thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors whose generosity helped to make this event a huge success.
We would like to thank Walmart Distribution Center General Manager Karl Mace and Walmart DC associate Jake Kremer for their assistance in helping coordinate volunteers through the Walmart Foundation Volunteerism Always Pays program. Special thanks to the 42 Walmart employees and their family and friends for volunteering to help prep the baseball fields, grilling and serving in the concessions stands, umpiring the games, assisting with parking and gate admissions and much more.
We are very thankful for the sponsors of this event: Ed Williams Body Shop; Lensing Brothers; Master Made Tanks; MediQuik Pharmacy; Mike Frederick’s Body Shop; New Prospect Company; Paris Realty; Paris Walmart; and Walmart DC in Clarksville. Thanks also to River Valley Foods and Tyson Foods for providing the hamburgers and chicken.
We are truly grateful to all for supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Paris.

We would like to say a very special thank you to everyone involved in the benefit for Joy Needham and Marie Appleton to help defray cancer treatment expenses.
Thanks so much to the merchants of Paris, Subiaco and Scranton who donated items for the silent auction and tea cup auction.
We wanted everyone involved who participated in any way to know how much it was appreciated. Everyone worked so hard to make this a success, especially our friends and family. May God bless you all many times over.
