The Trojan soccer squad bounced back from a tough road loss at Gentry by winning a hard-fought match at Huntsville on Friday, April 7.

The Trojans won in a shootout 5-3 after a tied game at the end of regulation at 1-1.

The Trojans dominated possession of the ball in the first half but failed to capitalize with scoring. Huntsville made a difficult shot for goal late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead at intermission. The Trojans defense toughened in the second half and prevented Huntsville from getting easy shots.

Byoungjin Min made the equalizing goal in the 43d minute of the second half and the game was tied at the end of regulation. In the shootout decided by penalty kicks, Trojans Yusay Watanabe, Ty Moran, Beau O’Neal, Nisisong Archibong, and Won Young Choe all successfully scored. Trojan goalie John Paul Post successfully blocked Huntsville’s third attempt. With the Trojans up in goals 4-3, Won Young Choe made the game clinching score putting the Trojans up 5-3 in the shootout and negating the need for Huntsville’s fifth attempt.
