The Paris pool was invaded by all types of predators last Saturday, including the local Paris Piranha Swim Team.

The River Valley Swim League meet at the Paris pool brought in 241 swimmers from Alma, Clarksville, Mena, Ozark, Russellville, and Paris along their families families, friends, and coaches. The area around the pool was covered in team tents and the lot was full of cars as spectators lined the fences.

Age groups participating started at six and under went through age 18.

Clint Crow and Keller Keen competed in the 50 freestyle in the 13 and 14 year old boys division and placed first and second, respectively. At the meet, the Paris Piranha first place winners were Nova Hertlein Lane, Ryker Highfield, Mary Pate Harper, Breana Acosta, Bethany Qualls, Avery Harper, Claire Hertlein Lane, Keller Keen, Clint Crow, Micah Grubbs, JJ Acosta, Brendon Hoskyn, Addison Newhart, Alli Sims. The second place winners were Mary Pate Harper, Emerson Komp, Madaline Grubbs, Sophie Perreault, Joshua Malagon, Clint Crow, Zachery Rytting, Keller Keen, Kylee Ferris, Tanner Komp.

Across the board, swimmers were awarded through sixth place and all Paris swimmers improved on their time.

There are four swim meets per season in Alma, Clarksville, Paris, and Russellville, with the last one being Friday at Russellville with each swim meet hosting 96 events.

With the support of local business, around thirty volunteers make the Paris meet possible and work in conjunction with the Paris Boys and Girls Club.
