Fresh off the down time required by the Arkansas Activities Association, Paris head football Coach Bryan Hutson took to the field on Saturday, July 22 with a young team of local athletes.

In his return to the sidelines, Hutson is working to develop fundamentals at an early age with the local athletes. With several Paris senior high athletes at his side, Hutson hosted a football camp with almost 50 youth, ranging from first to ninth grade.

The camp is a great opportunity for the players to step into a leadership role, mentoring young athletes who hope to one day play on the same field as those coaching them along. The camp went over fundamental elements of the game, including footwork, stance and ball control.

Athletes in attendance also learned training techniques they can take home with them to improve their skill set. Players worked in multiple position groups and interacted with the Eagles coaching staff. At the end of the day, the attendees left encouraged and with an improved understanding of the expectations that come with being a Paris Eagle football player.

Coach Hutson and his staff now turn their attention to the two-a-day schedule leading into the last two weeks of summer. Paris looks to be a playoff contender, and if healthy, should have the speed to run deep in the post season.
