After a week of festivities and a final day featuring the Homecoming assembly and parade, the Paris Eagles looked to turn the season in the right direction hosting winless Two Rivers last Friday night at Eagles Stadium.
After crowning Homecoming Queen Alyssa Johnson, the Eagles took the field and immediately took care of business. By halftime, Paris had a 42-0 lead. At the end of it, Paris had a 55-0 win.
DaKovan Wise gave the Eagles the 7-0 lead after his 22-yard run, followed on the next series by an eight-yard scamper from quarterback Kris Graham. Still in the first period, Justus Lee busted loose for a 56-yard rush, and Wise again scored in the first period on the ground and the Eagles led 28-0.
In the second period, Wise added his third touchdown, and Travis Bryant added a score, giving the Eagles the 42-0 halftime lead.
With a running clock and the second team playing the second half, Travis Bryant again punched the ball over the goal line, and in the final quarter, Louis Koch added the final points, as Paris took a knee on the extra point.
Kicker Kong Yang hit all seven of his extra point attempts in the 55-0 win for the Eagles. Wise only had three carries on the evening, turning them into 21 points as he rushed for three touchdowns and 92 yards. Paris did not attempt a pass on the evening, rushing for 387 yards and eight touchdowns as a team. With the shutout, the defense stood tough all evening, with Matthew Ezell leading the team in tackles with seven.
