The Lady Eagles opened their week as a heavy underdog to 6A Greenwood. Paris got on the board in the top of the first, but from there it was all Lady Bulldogs, as they put runs across in every inning in route to a 9-2 win.

A day later, the Lady Eagles hosted Mansfield, a team they beat 10-2 on the road earlier in the season. On this night, the Lady Eagles could not get the bats going, and though they outhit their opponent 11-10, the defense allowed a run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and the decisive run in the top of the seventh in a 5-4 loss.

The Lady Eagles would then host rival Charleston, a team they narrowly defeated on the road earlier. Again, timely hitting was an issue, and though they outhit Charleston 6-5, they took the loss 2-1, spoiling an 18 strikeout performance from Sydney Ward. Last Friday, the weather was the decision maker and would provide an opportunity for the Lady Eagles to reevaluate the previous games, focus on defense and advancing runners, and regain the swagger that has been their hallmark for the last month.

They will host Cedarville, before road games at Hackett and then at Cedarville on Friday. At 16-8, the Lady Eagles control their own destiny and have time to work out the errors that got them off track this week. They are still a favorite in the conference race and are expected to make a deep playoff run. They can use the emotions of this week to propel them through the final two weeks of the regular season.
