The U.S. Forest Service, along with state and local partners are sponsoring free fishing derbies throughout the Ouachita and Ozark-St. Francis National Forests.

Included is one at Cove Lake on the Mount Magazine Ranger District, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday. The event is for children age four to nine.

Participants must be pre-registered.

Partners for the druby include the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, National Wild Turkey Federation and Paris Rotary Club.

All hooks must be out of the water at 10 a.m. There is a two fish limit. Awards will be presented for the heaviest two fish (first, second and third place: four to six and seven to nine) and for the smallest fish and for Albino or tagged fish.

There will also be numerous random prizes.
