After helping lead the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears to a perfect 3-0 record and earning MVP honors at the 2018 Central Arkansas Invitational, senior Haley Tippett has been named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Tippett, an outside hitter from Roanoke, Texas, tallied a pair of double-doubles on the weekend and missed a third by just one dig as the Sugar Bears moved to 8-2 on the season and pushed their winning streak to five games.

She opened the week with a dominant performance in Central Arkansas' 3-2 win over in-state Little Rock, tallying 24 kills and 19 digs while hitting .298, before notching 14 kills and nine digs with a .414 hitting percentage in the Sugar Bears' sweep of South Dakota on Friday.

Tippett closed out the week with her fifth double-double of the season, collecting 11 kills and 10 digs with an attack percentage of .450.

"We're very proud of Haley for receiving this award," UCA coach Jeni Jones Chatman said. "She has had a very strong non-conference season and has helped our team win numerous matches. Her game management is better than ever and is one of the biggest reasons we have been so successful. We're looking forward to seeing more from her throughout the season."

Tippett and the Sugar Bears close out the non-conference portion of their schedule this weekend, traveling to Jonesboro to participate in the A-State Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State.

Central Arkansas will open play against the host Red Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, before taking on Jackson State at 3:30 p.m. Friday and Southern Illinois at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
