The Paris Junior Eagles have shown an ability to grasp and execute the new offense of first-year coach Tyler Clark. While Clark is not the head coach for the Junior High team, it is his offense and the offense that is being implemented system-wide that the Junior Eagles are running.

The first major test came Thursday night as Paris hosted the Booneville Junior Bearcats. The first half didn’t see either team get in the end zone, but things would change in the second half. Quarterback Chase Watts connected on three touchdowns, two of which went to Blake Martinez as the Eagles pulled out a 20-6 win.

Cooper Haley also caught a touchdown pass, as Watts threw for over 200 yards on the night. Nate Henderson racked up 14 tackles, including three for loss in the win. The Paris defense was stifling all evening, and as Coach Clark would say, “they bowed up several times in the red zone.”

The junior Eagles are developing well and show the potential for success in the near future of the program.
