Floy Louise Hayes, 87, who resided near Lavaca, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1926 east of Lavaca in Sebastian County to the late William Isaac Williams and Annie (Keith) Williams.
She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, James Harvey Maier and Billy Shurrill Hayes; one grandson, Scout Wayne Kiger; two granddaughters, Deborah Fay and Angela Kay Helton; two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Buddy Corbell officiating. Burial was at Tate Cemetery, located northwest of Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Helton of Paris and Cheryl Kiger of Lavaca; two sons, Jeffrey Hayes of Monett, Mo. and Marc Hayes of St. Joe; two sisters, Dorothy Decker and Maxine Maness, both of Lavaca; one brother, Carl Williams of Ozark; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Calvin Ladd, Joe Helton, Kennith Wilson, Ken Weaver, Harold Lovell, Keith Dunn, Denver Williams, and Charles Decker.
