The cities of Scranton and Magazine will be conducting clean up campaigns this month.

The City of Scranton will have its second annual citywide clean up Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon for residents living inside the Scranton city limits.

Dumpsters will be located at the corner of Main Street and 5th Street. The following items will not be accepted: leaves, grass clippings, branches, burned trash, wood, concrete, furniture, electronics, oil, solvents or other hazardous materials, paint cans (unless open and completely dried).

For further information please contact Mayor David Corbitt at 479-938-7846.

A citywide cleanup will be held in Magazine the week of May 13-18.

Unwanted items such as nonworking appliances, metal and items which will burn are welcome. Roofing material, fence wire and tires will not be accepted.

Gates will be open at the city Sewer Management Area from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

The Sewer Management Area is located on Highway 109 three blocks south of Highway 10 — turn left at the first street. As this is a city service, anyone wishing to discard material will have to see the attendant and sign in.
