The Paris Police Department filed 47 drug or drug-related charges in January, compared to 41 charges in January, 2017, according to the latest monthly report issued by the department.
During January, Paris police filed 76 warrants for nonpayment of fines, by far the single largest number filed in any one category, according to a breakdown of charges filed. Next was 17 charges filed for felony possession of drug paraphernalia. There were eight charges filed for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the break down. Officers also filed 12 failure to appear warrants during the month.
The Paris Police Department served a search warrant in Paris last Friday afternoon. During the service of the search warrant, suspected methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm were found and seized. Two subjects were arrested on felony charges and transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
Paris PD conducted a traffic stop last Friday evening for a minor traffic violation. An inventory search was conducted and officers located a black bag containing approximately a pound of suspected marijuana. One subject was arrested and taken to the Logan County Detention on felony charges.
