The body of a 29-year-old Hispanic male was found by residents of a home on North Fifth Street in Paris Saturday morning. The body was discovered in a swing on the front porch of the home.

According to Paris Police Lt. Robin Ellington, the body of Salvador Antonio Gonzalez has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory to determine manner and cause of death. Ellington said a preliminary report is expected this week but a full report may take longer.

Ellington said Gonzalez, who lived in Paris, had been dead since “maybe 1:30” a.m.

“From what we were told, the dogs at the residence barked sometime between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.,” Ellington said.

Ellington said the homeowners called the Paris Police Department around 11 a.m. Saturday after discovering the body. She said homeowners did not know Gonzalez and added there was no sign of trauma to the body.

“We have no idea why he would stop at that house,” Ellington said, “and we don’t know his whereabouts prior to that.”

Ellington also said police “had no idea” about whether Gonzalez had any kid of criminal record or conviction on prior charges, adding there were no drugs or firearms found on the body.
