Conway – A quartet of Bears earned Southland Conference All-Academic Honors on Tuesday, as the league announced its All-Academic Teams for Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field. Sophomores Alex Hanson and Zachary Jewell were honored on the men's side, while junior Hannah Noble and senior Rachel Durler were named to the women's team.

Hanson, a sophomore from Thatcham, England, was a jack-of-all-trades for the Bears during the 2018 seasons, competing in sprints, relays, and distance races. He was the Southland Conference medalist in the 800 meters for both the indoor and outdoor seasons while setting the school record in the 800 for both indoor and outdoor. He tallied 18 top-10 finishes, including seven in the 800, two in the 1,500 meters, two in the 4x400 meter relay and the 5,000 meters, and one each in the 400 meters, 3,000 meters, 400 meters, 4x800 meter relay, mile, distance medley. He recorded three top-10 times in the Southland Conference for the indoor season, finishing among the league's best in the 800 meters, mile, and 3,000 meters, and added two more top-10 times in the outdoor season, in the 800 meters and the 1,500 meters. Hanson has a 3.22 GPA and is majoring in Marketing.

Jewell, a sophomore from Cove, Arkansas, also competed in multiple disciplines for the Bears, seeing action in numerous sprint events, the 4x400 meter relay, and the long jump. He collected multiple top-10 finishes in each event as well, tallying three in the 60 meters and the 4x400, four in the 100, seven in the 200, and eight in the long jump. He set school records in both the 60 meters and the 200 meters, while ranking in the top-15 in the league in the 100, the 200, and the long jump. He has a 3.54 GPA and is pursuing a degree in Environmental Science – Planning and Administration.

Noble, a junior from Berryville, Arkansas, was a force in the high jump this year, finishing in the top-10 in all 11 meets she competed at. She was the 2018 Southland Conference Indoor High Jump Medalist, earning All-SLC First Team honors with a school-record 1.72 meter jump and turned in the seventh-best height in the SLC during the outdoor season. She carries a 3.85 GPA and is majoring in marketing.

Durler, a senior from Dodge City, Kansas, competed in the Javelin for the Bears, recording a top-10 finish in four of her seven competitions. She had the 11th-best distance in the Southland during the outdoor season, throwing 39.25 meters at the UCA Open. She graduated in May with a degree in Marketing and a 3.87 GPA.
