Paris Police Department confirmed a crash on the morning of Wednesday, July 31 when a vehicle drove through the CV’s Grocery store wall resulting in one injury.
Paris Police Officer Hayden was dispatched to the scene where upon arrival he found a large hole through the east side of the building with a maroon 2004 GMC Yukon parked just outside of the opening in the wall.
Roxanne Hatcher, the owner of the Yukon, informed Officer Hayden that she had mistakenly confused the accelerator as the brake and did not have enough time to stop after realizing her mistake before crashing into the building.
The crash resulted in injury to Loretta Turner who was inside the store when the crash happened and received injuries after the salad bar fell on top of her.
Turner was transported to Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith for her injuries.
