Friday, February 14, Clint Crow will be the Valentine for Subiaco as he is the lone senior for Senior Night. The Trojans will be hosting an adamant Devil Dog team on Clint's final game at Oskar Rust Gymnasium.
Last week the Trojans ripped off two conference wins. On Tuesday, the Trojans hosted a good Dover team. Dover has played several close games in the conference this year. On this night, the Trojans played their best game of the season and methodically pulled away from the Pirates. Unlike many games this year, the game was absent streaks, both good and bad. Instead, on this night, the Trojans outscored the Pirates 13-4 in the first and never allowed the visitors back into the game. The Trojans played several players and settled for a 61-39 win. Jonathan Mercera led the balanced Trojans with 15 points and several assists. Ivan Martijin and Matthew Kremers each scored eleven for the Trojans.
On Friday, Subi traveled to Heber Springs to take on the Panthers. Despite a sloppy first period that saw the Trojans lead by only 11-10 due to a Jonathan Mercera three at the buzzer, the Trojans did get it together and pull away. The Trojans outscored the Panthers 53-13 the rest of the way, with the bench taking over in the fourth period. Conner King and Matthew Kremers led the Trojans in scoring as they combined for 26 points as the Trojans reeled off a 54-23 win.
After Senior Night on Friday, Subiaco will enter the District Tournament play on Tuesday at Dardanelle. The opponent is not known, and the time will either be 4:00 or 7:00 p.m. If the Trojans win on Tuesday, they will go back Wednesday to play for a regional berth.
