Putting the scientific method to work: Cheryl Ivey’s third grade students at Paris Elementary recently enjoyed the opportunity to do some hands-on experiments using what they learned from their lesson on the scientific method. They formed a hypothesis about what might happen when dropping raisins and other fruits into a jar of Sprite. What they found was the carbon dioxide bubbles attaching themselves to the pieces of fruit, allowing the fruit to rise and then fall when the bubbles burst, making "dancing fruit."
