Teddy "Ted" Floyd Martin, 84, of Lavaca passed away peacefully July 31, 2018, in Van Buren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th St., Fort Smith, with the Rev. Ted Grove officiating.
A visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home.
Ted was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Lavaca to Carroll and Myrtle (McCrae) Martin. He was a graduate of Lavaca High School and served honorably in the armed forces. He was married to Carolyn (Taylor) Martin for more than 51 years before her death. Ted was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. He also was a prolific artist, enjoying painting and drawing for many years. First Baptist Church of Lavaca was his church home. He worked at and retired from Arkansas Casket Co. in Fort Smith, along with Correll Inc. in Charleston.
Ted is survived by his son, Scott Martin and his wife Mary of Prairie Grove; four grandchildren, Will, Marie, Caleb and Sarah, whom he loved dearly; eight brothers and sisters, Stanley Martin, Billy (Cecelia) Martin, Christine Davidson, Willine Ellison, Bobby (Ruthie) Martin, Harold Wayne (Sheila) Martin, Artie (Buford) Martin and Nancy (Benny) Teague; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Myrtle (McCrae) Martin; and his dear wife, Carolyn (Taylor) Martin on July 3 of this year.
