Bob Ross, 72, of Greenwood passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, in a local hospital. He was the former retired sherriff of Crawford County, a former member of the Fort Smith Police Department and a Goju karate instructor.
Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. with eulogy by Kevin Robinson of Van Buren. Burial will be at New Berry Chapel Cemetery, north of Alma, under the direction of Ocker funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Ross of the home; one daughter, Mitzi Scherrey and husband Josh of Fort Smith; a son, Ryan Ross of Washington; two grandchildren, Callie and Storm Scherrey of Fort Smith; brother-in-law, Dub Dillon and wife Rhonda; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Stockburger and husband David.
Pallbearers will be Don Hunt, Terry Grizzle, Linnie Hice, Dan Franklin, Bruce Caselman, Ronnie Thomas, Shawn Firestin, David Mille, Jon Salyor, Bob Crabtree, Alan Kaylor, Jerry Pittman, John Lee Wright and George Loftin.
The family will visit with relatives and friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Ocker funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
