Charles John Kieft, 89, who resided in Paris, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born September 24, 1923. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret (Carpenter) Kieft.

He retired from Cloyes Gear Company in Paris, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Rosary service was at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Funeral Mass was at 2 p.m. Friday, August 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris at a later date, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris. Officiating the service will be Father Eugene Luke, O.S.B.

He is survived by two step-sons, James Carpenter of Muskogee, Okla. and Larry Carpenter of Fort Smith; seven step-grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or St. Joseph Church Capital Campaign.
